Bloom Stories: Interview With Brittney Ellers, Holistic Pelvic Physical Therapist
An intuitive path to healing, entrepreneurship, and becoming who you’re meant to be.
This post is part of an ongoing interview series highlighting women entrepreneurs who are building impactful, soul-led businesses. My hope is to:
Inspire you to follow your dreams—and see firsthand that it’s possible for you, too
Help you find connection and common ground in the stories other women share
Shine a light on incredible business owners who deserve to be seen
The moment I heard Brittney Ellers speak at a virtual workshop in early 2025, I knew she was someone special.
The workshop was supporting women in gaining clarity and confidence to follow their calling. Brittney is a Holistic Pelvic Physical Therapist, and she spoke about women’s menstrual cycles and how to live more intuitively while loving and supporting ourselves cyclically.
Having ended hormonal birth control myself in late 2021, and feeling like I didn’t have support in that transition, I had been seeking someone like Brittney. She takes things a step further than a traditional physical therapist, approaching her work holistically by helping her clients’ physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.
Through her business, Being Better, she helps women through significant life transitions—pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, surgery, sexual awakening—anything where the body and identity are shifting. She specifically loves working with any woman who knows there’s power and reclamation to be had in her pelvic region, and is curious about going deeper into her body.
Brittney is inspiring not only through the services that she offers but also as a solopreneur. She offers a few helpful reminders for other entrepreneurs:
Don’t let fear hold you back
Follow your intuition in business
Walk the talk by practicing what you preach
Finding Her Calling Through Divine Invitations
When you see someone living out their calling, it’s hard not to wonder how they got there. Even entrepreneurs are often trying out different roles and offerings until they find the right fit.
“When I look back at my big life decisions, they were all invitations — very timely, perfect invitations.” - Brittney
For Brittney, in her undergrad years, she knew she wanted to do something with the body, but didn’t know what. It was encouragement from a family member and athletic trainer mentor that led her down the path to PT school. Eventually, she found herself working as a physical therapist in an outpatient orthopedic clinic with a focus on sports medicine, but was starting to feel burnt out.
So as divine invitations were presented to her, she followed the call. Four monumental invitations shifted her from working at the outpatient orthopedic clinic to pelvic health.
An invitation to be the first employee of a wellness company offering 90-minute concierge physical therapy sessions.
She started to experience pelvic pain from a tight pelvic floor, inviting her to explore her own pelvic health.
A friend handed her the book Women Code by Alisa Vitti, bringing about the curiosity of ending a 10-year stint of birth control.
Experiences through different romantic relationships invited her to look at her sexuality, beliefs, and self-expression.
This ‘perfect storm,’ as Brittney likes to call it, eventually led her to understand that being a holistic pelvic therapist was her calling.
Choosing Courage Over Comfort
Brittney never thought she would be a business owner, yet here we are, 7 years into entrepreneurship. In 2019, the place where she was employed invited her to go from employee to independent contractor. Being a rule follower, it rattled her.
But her work was different than traditional physical therapy, and she knew deep down that starting her business was the right move. Her brother helped her with branding, she got business cards, and it was official!
The Power of Community & Stepping Through Fear
Starting her business pushed her to step outside of her comfort zone and navigate new challenges. She received a grant to launch her podcast, The Pelvic Pulse, but she was required to do a public crowdfunding campaign.
“Once you do the scary thing, you’re like, ‘Oh, that was fine,’ and then you can do the next scary thing.” - Brittney
Brittney didn’t know anyone who had done this before. But she joined a cohort of 27 other women entrepreneurs, and seeing them put themselves out there in their own way inspired her to do the same and to lean into the experience and her community, helping her raise $10,000 to launch her podcast.
New challenges arise all the time, especially as she continues to try new things that she hasn’t seen done before. What helps her to navigate this?—staying connected with other women entrepreneurs. These connections are an opportunity for inspiration, receiving feedback, and holding each other accountable.
Led By Intuition & Authenticity
What’s really inspiring about Brittney is how her intuition and authenticity inform her business decisions. Whether it’s her presence on social media, in her email marketing, or the unique services she offers, how she shows up and what she creates is timely and unique to her.
In my opinion, Brittney isn’t a rule follower; she’s a trailblazer directed by her intuition.
“I have to listen to my intuition — if I don’t, my body will talk back to me. I will get ill, or I won’t be well.” - Brittney
So how exactly does she lean into intuition and authenticity in her business, Being Better?
Following the little nudges she receives—like “go work at a coffee shop.” It’s small things like this that lead to surprising connections, ideas, and opportunities.
Building her life first—prioritizing movement, creativity, connection, and rest. Then sprinkling business around that.
Living and working cyclically—each day and week is different based on changes her body is experiencing throughout the month.
Showing up in a way that feels good to her—it’s less about doing things in a way that we’re told to and instead creating from alignment.
Practicing what she preaches—she takes a close look at her habits and way of life and course-corrects as needed to stay aligned with who she authentically is and the messages she shares with her community.
It’s the small intentional ways of being that have helped her grow her business and feel excited about what she’s offering.
What’s On The Horizon For Brittney, And How Can You Get In Touch With Her?
Brittney is moving deeper into work that supports fundamental, long-term transformation. She’s offering a mix of group experiences and 1:1 containers (8 weeks and 6 months), moving away from quick-fix models and into slower, more embodied healing.
She’s also bringing back Season 4 of her podcast, The Pelvic Pulse, and recently created Pool of Presence, a short, binge-able private podcast series you can listen to in one sitting, or return to slowly, whenever you feel the pull. Pool of Presence is a place where you can soften, sense, and remember what your body already knows — through guided reflection.
